PREMIER LEAGUE RECALL FOR ATTWELL
IT’S back to Premier League action this weekend for Stuart
Attwell after an absence of more than two years from top-flight football.
Attwell, who was 32 earlier this month, was demoted from the Select Group in February two years ago after
a series of lapses, but he has been recalled after impressing this season with
his performances at Championship level.
On Saturday (November 1), he takes the match between Leicester City
and WBA.
Attwell, from Nuneaton,
will have the support and encouragement of the highly experienced Phil Dowd as
fourth official.
Dowd, meanwhile, will be taking Monday night’s match between
Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace
and Sunderland.
Other referee appointments for this weekend’s matches are as
follows:
SATURDAY
Andre Marriner: Newcastle v Liverpool
Craig Pawson: Arsenal
v Burnley
Mike Jones: Chelsea
v QPR
Kevin Friend: Everton
v Swansea
Martin Atkinson: Hull
v Southampton
Chris Foy: Stoke
v West Ham
SUNDAY
Michael Oliver: Man
City v Man Utd
Neil Swarbrick: Aston
Villa v Spurs
